Joint ICBA, Bar of Ireland and Clarus Press CPD: Vulnerable Witnesses and Defendants in Criminal Proceedings

CPD event to be held by the Bar Council, Irish Criminal Bar Association and Clarus Press. Criminal practitioner, Miriam Delahunt BL PhD, and Mr. Justice Paul McDermott, Judge of the High Court, will outline relevant updates in the area of vulnerable witnesses and defendants in criminal proceedings.

At the end of the presentation, participants will:

• Be familiar with the current practices and challenges facing practitioners in respect of vulnerable witnesses and defendants.

• Be aware of future goals for the support and assistance of vulnerable witnesses and defendants in criminal proceedings.

Miriam Delahunt BL Miriam's book was published by Clarus Press in January 2024. A practicing barrister, she also acts as an intermediary for vulnerable defendants in criminal trials.  Speaker Topic: Intermediaries in the Criminal Justice System.
